Culinary bliss awaits at Fairmont Yangcheng Lake

WIDELY recognized as a signature feature of Fairmont Yangcheng Lake, the hotel’s Yue Feng Island Organic Farm has recently added a restaurant and cooking studio to its already beautiful landscape.

Guests will now find two newly built glass houses at Yue Feng Island, one that sits on the edge of the lily pond and the other amongst the rice field. With sunlight shining through the interconnected glass houses, Wugu Restaurant and Wugu Culinary Studio is set to be the latest culinary hot spot in Kunshan.

The Wugu (Five Grains) Restaurant serves scrumptious and authentic local cuisine using organic ingredients fresh from the farm, offering guests an exceptional dining experience. The concept of the restaurant is to bring to the table affordable dishes based on the “five grains,” also referred to as granular harvests, which form the base element of foods in Chinese culture.

Wugu also aligns itself with Fairmont’s effort to maintain a sustainable environment by sourcing for ingredients from within a 160-kilometer radius, which reduces the hotel’s carbon footprint and emissions.

In the other glass house, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake organizes cooking classes at the Wugu Culinary Studio, where guests can enjoy produce from the organic farm and learn to cook in a fun and interactive environment. The hotel’s team will guide guests to plan what they wish to learn to cook, pick fresh ingredients from the farm and finally prepare the meal in the state-of-the-art cooking studio, which features eight cooking stations and a master cooking station.

Yue Feng (The Great Harvest) Island is located within the hotel’s water park and covers 33 acres. The organic farm has loquat, pear and pomegranate tress, as well as seasonal vegetables. Every batch of fresh fruit and vegetables are used in the hotel’s restaurants. At Fairmont Yangcheng Lake guests can savor healthy and great tasting food.
