Hyatt Regency first upscale resort on Chongming Island

THE Hyatt Regency Chongming, located on Chongming Island in Shanghai, introduces the Hyatt Regency brand to Shanghai and is the first international upscale resort on the island.
Situated at the mouth of the Yangtze River and the East China Sea, Chongming is the world’s largest alluvial river island. Sparsely developed and dotted with organic farms, rural villages, national parks and wetlands, it is a coveted retreat destination for Shanghai urban dwellers seeking fresh air, nature adventures and excellent dining that uses local ingredients. The island is conveniently linked to the mainland by a tunnel and bridge, and is just a 60-minute drive from downtown Shanghai.

Hyatt Regency Chongming is set in a beautiful natural environment beside the Dongtan Wetland Park and a migratory bird reserve. The resort’s six buildings are connected by a covered Chinese-style walkway, and extensive gardens are landscaped with flowers, streams and arched bridges.
Ideal for couples, families or conference groups, the contemporary resort features spacious and comfortable guest rooms, five restaurants and tea house, multi-functional event venues, and an extensive variety of recreational facilities for all ages.
Resort accommodation
Hyatt Regency Chongming features 235 contemporary guest rooms, including 21 suites, with complimentary wifi Internet access and first-round mini bar with snacks and drinks. Guest rooms are equipped with the latest technology such as 42-inch flat-screen TVs and MP3 player docking stations, and feature private balconies or courtyards looking out to garden views.
The hotel is also the first Hyatt hotel in China to introduce a pet-friendly program, with 24 dedicated dog-friendly rooms complete with enclosed outdoor courtyards and special canine comforts.

Hyatt Regency Chongming’s unique nature resort ambience and innovative facilities make it an exciting new destination for meetings, conferences and weddings within easy access of Shanghai.
The hotel features a 630-square-meter Regency Ballroom opening out to a walled garden, five classically styled salons and boardrooms, plus a 3,200-square-meter Regency Lawn catering to larger alfresco events and romantic garden weddings.
The resort is also the first to introduce an innovative new meetings and events concept by Hyatt — The Campus — to China. Styled to evoke the nostalgia of university life, The Campus is a learning and social center with contemporary and dynamic settings specially designed to foster creative thinking and the exchange of ideas. Spanning 1,440 square meters on the ground floor, The Campus comprises a lecture hall, three classrooms, a versatile social and dining space called the cafeteria, and six song and game rooms.
Recreation facilities
The Fitness Center at Hyatt Regency Chongming includes a 25-meter indoor swimming pool, fitness center with Technogym equipment and indoor/outdoor children’s play areas. A large fleet of mountain bikes, tandems and kids’ bikes are available for guests wishing to explore the numerous attractions around Chongming Island, including natural wetlands, temples and rural villages.
Summer meetings
Say goodbye to those traditional meetings in the city. Hyatt Regency Chongming introduces you to Summer “Oxygen” Meeting package in July and August. The package includes one-night stay in Regency Room with daily breakfast, eight hours’ use of function room, two coffee breaks and one healthy business lunch with local Chongming signature gourmet. During the meeting, professional fitness coach will teach you an “office workout” exercise involving stretching and strengthening your body, all within the comfort of your office chair. The hotel also provides a 3,000-square-meter lawn, and bicycles for innovative outdoor activities on compliment, plus variety choices of team building activities upon request. Weekday package rate of 760 yuan net per person per night for double occupancy, 340 yuan add-on for single occupancy; weekend package rate at 920 yuan net per person per night for double occupancy, with 500 yuan add-on for single occupancy.
