Hotels charm guests with classy souvenirs

Most hotels want to make guests feel at home in their guest rooms, so they stuff them up with nice things. When they are about to check out of the hotel, many of them are tempted to grab a few things from the rooms as souvenirs. These memorable things are preserved as memories of a good time.

For hotels, these souvenirs serve as a constant “brand” reminder that increases the chances that the guests may return to the same hotel again.

Let’s check out some of the lovely souvenirs that guests walked away with from some of the top hotels.

1. The Blossom Hill Inn Suzhou, a hotel that features traditional Chinese architecture, has souvenirs with classic beauty for their guests. A wooden comb decorated with green tassels charms guests because of its antique flavor. Guests can also have the Chinese rouge in a classic ceramic container. For traditional Chinese culture lovers, these souvenirs ensure their stay is a memorable one.

2. Guests at Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai get to choose from: a colorful luggage tag, distinctly themed postcards and Sendwish Candle designed by famous Shanghainese designer Lu Kun. These gifts inspire creativity among guests, bring some fun in their daily lives and ensure their trips are unforgettable.

3. Most hotels prepare special amenities for VIP guests. The Peninsula Shanghai provides customized gifts for their VIP guests such as the pillowcase and office stationery embroidered or imprinted with the guest’s name. For a VIP child guest, the hotel has an iconic teddy bear embroidered with the child’s name.

4. The hotel key card is often the thing guests take home with them. Hotels are now using well-designed key cards to make strong impressions on their customers. For example, room key cards in Le Meridien Shimei Bay Beach Resort & Spa in Sanya are creatively designed by artists. The cards are designed with bold patterns or beautiful image of natural scenery.

5. Sanya Marriott Yalong Bay Resort & Spa gives every guest a colorful and well-crafted necklace, which is made with cocoanut shells. Shaped like a starfish, the biggest pendant of the necklace is carved with a big hotel logo. The gifts with bright colors impress guests of the hospitality and the pleasure of staying in the hotel.

6. Hotel gift shops are often a good place to source valuable souvenirs. Famous Chinese sculptor Qu Guangci designed the angel sculpture series which are available at the gift shop at The Langham Shanghai, Xintiandi. Qu added some Chinese touch to the image of the angel. Qu said the angels can be ordinary people in our life.

7. Souvenirs in a theme hotel are always fanciful and eye-catching. Themed by Disney cartoon, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel’s gifts surprise many guests. There are Mickey Mouse and seven Little Men patterns imprinted on the wrappers of goods in every guestroom. Besides, colorful towels are folded in the shape of Disney characters to create a world of fairy tale.

8. A practical gift or souvenir is preferred by most guests. Seaview Resort, Xiamen gives guests a lovely U-shaped soft pillow, which is a special souvenir of the hotel’s involvement in animal protection efforts. This soft, fluffy yellow pillow, a perfect travel companion, offers ultimate support to alleviate fatigue. This thoughtful gift creates a uniquely relaxing and pleasant atmosphere for guests.

9. Many hotels also offer unique services to ensure a good night’s sleep to their guests. Most hotel staff prepare rooms that “invite” sleep. It is not just about the bed. Regalia Resort & Spa, Suzhou features a lovely little toy elephant which wears a yellow ribbon during the turn-down service. A considerate “Sleep Well” card is tied around its neck, showing the thoughtfulness of the hotel staff.
