Good time for all at Marriott’s Shake & Bubbles party
VIBRANT live music, countless crafted gourmet foods, a blue and white laser show, elegant outdoor décor and an amazing view made for a wonderful night at the monthly Shake & Bubbles — White Edition party on August 21 at the JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Tomorrow Square.
The seventh-floor poolside party was designed to create a casual, relaxing and luxurious night for the guests. As the white-themed party, guests dressed in elegant white were welcomed by a group of “angels” — girls in white, wearing feather wings.
“We would like to build a unique outdoor event with white luxury and provide a relaxing environment to get people together. They will experience the taste of luxury not only in the feeling but also the food, music and view,” says Silvio Rosenberger, general manager of JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Tomorrow Square.
“We invite many Marriott group loyal customers, regular customers and business partners to build the relationship with companies, customers and Marriott together. The event perfectly presents the core value of JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Tomorrow Square: authentic, crafted and intuitive,” Rosenberger adds.
Each Shake & Bubbles party, organized by the Marriott hotel group monthly, is meant to improve awareness of the brand among Chinese.
The party is not only a good way to meet people and enjoy the social life, but also a good place to enjoy the food and view.
Five live cooking stations took guests on a global gourmet tour. The smoked salmon with avocado jam and fresh fish roe brought a blast of fresh and rich flavor of the sea. The pork sandwich with a fusion between French and Vietnam and northern Thai beef salad brought the local taste of Southeast Asia. The Spanish seafood rice with pawns and squid was definitely a carnival of the ocean. The highlight was the dessert — nitro coconut island. Injected with tropical fruit jam and cooled by nitrogen, the masterpiece was cold outside, frozen inside and topped with pineapple. The pure white foam melted in the mouth.
The evening was also packed with excitement. When night fell, the guests tried a traditional wipeout challenge to keep balance and reach the other end of the pool. Those who succeeded were awarded various gift vouchers. Of course, a pool party would not be complete without the exciting ice bucket challenge. Fully immersed in the party, guests were mingling and having fun.
“The poolside is a great asset of our hotel. With the event held in August, we certainly would like to showcase this place,” says Vincent Van Mechelen, food and beverage director of the hotel. “White is a very summery pool color, as well as one of JW Marriott’s signature colors. We want to create a pure and elegant touch for the pool party, as this is also the image we would like our distinguished guests to associate us with.”
With a light breeze in the evening, the guests had a great night view of People’s Square. The crowds danced to the soothing live music of DJ Onno.
The next Shake & Bubbles event will be at Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Pudong on September 18. For information, please call 6021-6888.
