At hotel pools, get the best splash for your cash

SUMMER is a time to become more active and to shake off some weight from eating a little too much ice cream. But in the humid, hot weather in Shanghai, exercising outdoors can be stressful for both the body and mind. Whether you are travelling to Shanghai or living in the city, some top hotels are offering fitness centers with state-of-the-art gym equipment and breathtakingly beautiful swimming pools that turn exercising into an enjoyable pleasure.

The hotel’s professional trainers are available to provide guidance at all time, ensuring your trainings are conducted in a safe manner.

Meanwhile, a well-designed temperature controlled indoor 25-meter-long lap pool is sitting under a sky-dome space.

In the changing room, there are tropical rainforest style showers and 360-degree spray experience shower and Jacuzzi. The guests and members can also relax in volcanic sauna, steam room and relaxation room offering a motorized bed and TV screen.

Inspired by a tranquil pond in the urban oasis, the 25-meter indoor swimming pool with infinity edge is a soothing place to relax and play surrounded by glass windows yielding city views. Guests can also unwind in the spacious whirlpool with underwater massage loungers. Soft sandstone floors naturally merge with the pool to create the impression of a natural waterfront environment.

Park Hyatt Shanghai

The Water’s Edge of Park Hyatt Shanghai located on the 85th floor is officially the city’s highest pool, spa and fitness facility. The staff and therapists hope that visitors will leave feeling “on top of the world.”

The 20-meter-long infinity pool, a heated whirlpool and a dry sauna are lined in shimmering turquoise mosaic tiles. Surrounded by rosewood cabinets, organic fiberglass sculptures and Venetian lights with views of the Bund and Huangpu River, the vast pool area resembles that of an elegant mansion. At one end of the pool area, a spacious tai chi “courtyard” is where a master will lead tai chi sessions every morning.
