Rock ‘n’ roll show journeys back to ‘50s

THE “Rock Around the Clock” concert will take a journey back to the golden age of rock ‘n’ roll, featuring songs by Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and others.

The show started in Monte Carlo in 2009 and has become popular touring around the world. In 90 minutes, the cast recreates the classic rock ‘n’ roll melodies, with a stage design set in the 1950s.

The concert title comes from the song “Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley and the Comets, which was one of the earliest rock successes.

Songs like “Great Balls of Fire,” “Jail House Rock,” “Blueberry Hill,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” and “Tutti Frutti” are in the program consisting of nearly 50 songs.

The word “rock ‘n’ roll” originated in the US in the 1950s. The genre combines various styles like blues, jazz, swing and country music.
