Renowned violinist to perform recital

CANADIAN violinist Julia Bushkova will give a recital featuring classical masterpieces by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and more.

Born into a family of renowned violinists in Moscow, Bushkova has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and recitals around the world. She started playing violin at age 5 and made her concert debut at age 15 in Poland.

Bushkova graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

While in school, she performed in Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria and other European countries, including concerts in Moscow’s Great Hall.

She is also a professor of violin at the University of North Texas.

Pianist Arsentiy Kharitonov will join Bushkova and perform the Sonata No.5 for Violin and Piano by Beethoven and Sonata No.1 by Robert Kahn.

The program also includes the march from the opera “Love for the Three Oranges” by Prokofiev, “Méditation” from the opera “Thaïs” by Jules Massenet, two preludes by Rachmaninoff and “Mélodie” from “Souvenir d’un Lieu Cher” by Tchaikovsky.
