Old war film posters now on display

TO commemorate China’s 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-fascist War, Shanghai Film Group Corporation and Hongkou District Library are presenting an exhibition of historical film posters and relics.

The exhibition runs until September 8 at Jinyi International Cinema and Hongkou District Library.

Well-preserved film posters of movies produced decades ago are on displayed including “The Fight for Moscow,” “Bridge,” “Tunnel Warfare,” “Landmine Warfare” and “The Letter With Feathers.”

During the exhibition more than 40 classic anti-fascist films will be screened at the library. They include the French film “Don’t Look Now — We’re Being Shot” and the Oscar-winning movie “Schindler’s List.”

Items on display include commemorative stamps, wartime publications and daily necessities. Celebrated film director Wu Tiange, known for his anti-fascist war epics, will also attend the exhibition.
