It’s all fun and games at Fashion Joy

Animation and mobile game enthusiasts will likely enjoy themselves at Fashion Joy, an annual cartoon and game carnival at Shanghai International Fashion Center.

The carnival is in its second year and will run from September 11 to 13. It has already developed a large fan base on the Internet.

This year, a variety of events will be held.  It will feature an exhibition of well-known cartoon characters, creative bazaar and some games like first-person shooters, a maze and whac-a-mole. Cosplay lovers may want to enter the running contest, the first of its kind in the city.

To celebrate the release of the film “Black Cat Detective,” Shanghai Animation Film Studio will exhibit 40 dolls of the movie’s hero.

The classic Chinese animated series “Black Cat Detective” has impressed generations of Chinese people and the exhibition is expected to evoke nostalgia among the post 1970s and ‘80s generations.

Shining Star, a popular girl’s band, will perform songs from a variety of animated films.

Meanwhile, the animator of the original comic series “That Year, That Rabbit, Those Things” will share with fans the inspiration behind his work and other behind-the-scenes experiences.
