Ice Age show promises mammoth fun

LIVE entertainment spectacular “Ice Age Live! A Mammoth Adventure” will be staged at the Mercedes-Benz Arena from tomorrow.

Inspired by the beloved film series of the same name, “Ice Age Live!” features ice skating, dancing, singing and acrobatics.

“The show is going to be a truly groundbreaking, live entertainment experience that will amaze and delight not just fans of the Ice Age franchise, but anyone seeking a truly unique live stage show,” according to Jeffrey Godsick, President of Fox Consumer Products, which produces the show.

The story tells of an extraordinary herd of Ice Age animals, all living together in one big family.

Dwindling grasslands lead Sid, a sloth, and Crash and Eddie, two possums, to venture onto a forbidden land where the grass is greener. Unbeknownst to them, this territory is ruled by the evil bird Shadow who does not appreciate visitors.

Seeking revenge, Shadow and his crew enter the herd’s camp at nightfall and kidnap Peaches, a baby mammoth, and the two possums.

To save them, the fearless heroes, Manny, Diego and Sid embark on a wild journey where they cross paths with their good friend Buck.

As for Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel, this time he’s got more than his beloved acorn to worry about.

Aside from this must-see show, the arena will also be home to a children’s amusement park until the end of August.

The park features water games, an inflatable castle and an arts-and-crafts area. It is open to children under 1.4-meters in height.

Admission is free for accompanying adults. Visitors can also take part in a raffle for a free trip to Taiwan.
