German violinist Julia Fischer to perform in Shanghai

GERMAN violinist Julia Fischer will give a recital at Shanghai Oriental Art Center in October. Programs include Dvorak’s “Sonatina for Violin in G, Op. 100,” Schubert’s “Sonatina for Violin in D, D384,” Brahms’ “Violin Sonata No. 3 in D minor, Op. 108.” Born in Munich, Fischer is recognized worldwide as an exceptionally gifted artist, reflected in the numerous awards and reviews she has received for her live performances and recordings, including being named “Artist of the Year” at The Gramophone Awards in 2007 and “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the 2009 MIDEM Classical Awards.
