Disney characters at World Financial Center
AN exhibition centering on early Walt Disney characters is on display at the Shanghai World Financial Center. Entitled “Mickey Magical Journey,” the exhibition is being held at observatory floors on the building’s 94th, 97th and 100th floors through September 6.
Displays on the 423-meter Sky Arena 94 include a sculpture of Steamboat Willie, the titular character from the company’s iconic animated short. Released in 1928, the original version of “Steamboat Willie” was also the world’s earliest talkie cartoon. This famed piece of animation will also be on view during the exhibition. Also on this floor, visitors can pose with sculptures of Willie, as well as Mickey and Minnie Mouse and other beloved Disney cartoon figures.
Displays on the 97th and 100th floors include original drawings of several Disney characters as well as many early Disney cartoon books.
Visitors can view the exhibition by buying tickets to the observatory.
