Children show imagination via paintings

TO celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year, a children’s painting exhibit raised its curtain Saturday at Arch Walk.

Over 200 creative painting works by local children from 6 to 12 years old are exhibited. Children portray the world and people from their own perspective.

Officials from Haha TV, organizer of the exhibition, encouraged children to unleash their imagination to create without setting a specific theme. Diverse painting styles are featured, including oils, watercolors, sketches and traditional Chinese realistic paintings.

Ye Yutong, a 10-year-old primary student, presents a painting about the mysterious and exciting Halloween night, while Guo Kaiyi, also 10, creates a poetic landscape of red leaves.

Parents consider it a good platform to explore and showcase their children’s potential.
