Creativity for charity cause

I remember crawling out of bed early one morning, patiently twisting and turning the pan over the stove, and eagerly tip-toeing into my parents’ room with the finished product.

That was my very first sunny side-up egg.

Simple Edibles is a student club at Shanghai American School, Puxi campus. It was founded by a group of foodies who were high school students with thundering empty bellies. I watched them frying chunks of chicken into cloud forms and making freshly-baked potato au gratins. With a cookbook laid open on the table, I started my own culinary expedition.

Currently, we work alongside the Baobei Foundation which provides life-saving surgeries for babies with various physical disabilities. The foundation has funded more than 200 operations for 158 babies.

Simple Edibles has made me realize that perhaps a different perspective, a more creative perspective, is able to unleash our imagination and help us discover the real meaning of simple things.
