‘THE Sacred Arrow’ (China)

The film tells of the 1,000-year-old Amdo Tibetan tradition of archery. By looking at how two villages compete in an archery competition, stories of friendship, love and ancient traditions emerge. In a new and changing era, Tibetans carry forward their cultural heritage from generation to generation, forming a story that never ends.

‘Ant Story’ (Bangladesh)

Every day while returning to his suburban home on the other side of the river, struggling young graduate Mithu gazes at the dazzling city of Dhaka. Everybody wants something from Dhaka. Mithu, a byproduct of a materialistic society, feels he is not properly equipped to get what he wants he stoops to unethical means. He realizes when the world can’t be changed according to one’s wish; it’s easier to create a new customized world.

‘The Woods Are Still Green’ (Slovenia)

As World War I rages across Europe, the Austro-Hungarian monarchy is fighting Italy. The Isonzo River is the scene of gruesome trench warfare around mountains and valleys, with hundreds of thousands of victims on both sides. Amidst this hell, captain Jan Kopetzky, scion of a wealthy family, and private Jakob Lindner, son of a craftsman, are the sole survivors of an Italian artillery attack. They are holding position “R,” an artillery outlook post on the slopes of Rombon mountain in the Julian Alps.

‘Begin Again’ (US)

It is a soul-stirring comedy about what happens when lost souls meet and make beautiful music together. Gretta and her long-time boyfriend Dave are college sweethearts and songwriting partners who decamp for New York when he lands a deal with a major label. But the trappings of his new-found fame soon tempt Dave to stray, and a reeling, lovelorn Gretta is left on her own. Her world takes a turn for the better when Dan, a disgraced record-label exec, stumbles upon her performing on an East Village stage and is immediately captivated by her raw talent.
