Children’s chorus performs Ravel

PARIS Opera Children’s Chorus will present a concert of the classic children’s opera “L’Enfant et les Sortileges” (The Child and the Magic Spells) at two different venues in Shanghai.

The opera was created by French composer Maurice Ravel.

The show made its debut in Monte Carlo in 1925. It is a sentimental tale of a troublesome little girl who learns a lesson when all the toys and things around her — after being treated rudely — demand lives of their own.

The beautiful and impressive scores in the opera have combined to create an imaginative world of childhood. They are related to the emotions and tastes of kids.

Paris Opera Children’s Chorus, founded in 1985, is one of the most prestigious children’s chorus in Europe. It is composed of around 470 children who have beautiful vocals and passion for music. Over the passing decade, the chorus has performed many classic operas and collaborated with well-known conductors such as Ozawa Seiji and Valery Gergiev.
