A cow belly for meditation
SWISS artist Beat Lippert yesterday set up a Zen meditation hall at MoCA Pavilion in People’s Park. Visitors to the park are encouraged to explore the hall, sit down and take a moment or two for themselves.
Inspired by Swiss chocolate brand Milka, the hall is built in the shape of a cow’s belly, with cow spots in purple. Visitors can meditate or take selfies in the hall.
Lippert is participating in a residency project hosted by MoCA Shanghai and supported by Pro Helvetia Shanghai. The artist will also give a talk on his work at the pavilion on May 12.
Date: Through May 15, 10am-9pm (Talk starts at 7:30pm on May 12)
Venue: MoCA Pavilion
Address: Gate 7, People’s Park, 231 Nanjing Rd W.
