Our future is with robots
The 5th China Robotic Industry Summit was held last week at the Caohejing Technology Park in Songjiang, with the theme “Giving Robots the Wings of Internet and Capital.”
“With economic restructuring, China’s labor costs are rising, and the robot era is just around the corner,” said Professor Wang Tianmiao from Beihang University.
China’s industrial robot market will maintain an annual growth rate of up to 25 percent in coming years. Shanghai companies are expected to contribute about 70 percent of the nation’s robots.
Professor Wang told the summit that the biggest potential for the industry relates to household robots.
“Service-oriented robots have been gaining in popularity in recent years,” Wang said.
By 2017, robots related to personal and household services are expected to exceed the numbers of those used in industry.
