More recharging sites planned for green cars
SONGJIANG will install 50 electric car recharging stations by the end of this year to help promote green driving. When completed, there will be a recharging station every five kilometers.
With Shanghai subsidies on license plate fees and discounts on eco-car prices, more people are showing interest in environmentally friendly travel. The lack of recharging stations has been an obstacle in the government’s green-car campaign.
The new recharging stations will be set up in the Sheshan Hill National Tourism Resort, Guangfulin Cultural Heritage Park, Songjiang University Town, Thames Town, Fangsong Community Culture Center, and busy shopping centers and neighborhoods.
Last December, the city’s first privately invested recharging station was built in Fangsong. It is currently serving about 10 cars a day.
