Czechs seek to cash in on China’s rapid growth

THE national pavilion of the Czech Republic is expected to open in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone within the next few months.
Construction has entered its final stage, according to Richard Krpac, consul-general of the Czech Republic in Shanghai. Krpac said that the pavilion would be officially opened in July or August.
The 1,686-square-meter pavilion will display Czech achievements in the automobile industry, high technology, culture and education, travel and handcrafts.
A shop selling Czech products will also be available.
It offers people in Shanghai easy access to fully understand the Czech culture and people and buy high quality Czech products at reasonable prices. There will also be counters showcasing professional services and working space for Czech enterprises to help Czech businesspeople negotiate with their Chinese counterparts.
Krpac hopes the Czech National Pavilion will play an important role in the introduction of the Czech Republic’s latest technologies and projects in aeronautics, electronics manufacturing equipment, nanotechnology, biological science, automobile manufacturing and garbage disposal to the Chinese market amid the “Belt and Road” initiative.
At the same time, the aim is to help Chinese firms enter the Czech market and through that the entire European Union.
Chinese people show great interest in Czech. Last year more than 350,000 Chinese travelers visited the country, Krpac said.
