Cherish the old
Linfen Road Subdistrict organized a variety of activities to serve and entertain seniors ahead of the Double Ninth Festival, a day dedicated to the elderly which took place on Sunday.
On October 14, the subdistrict’s elderly residents received free medical services, including advice about traditional Chinese medicine, vital-sign testing and massages.
Local volunteers visited elders who live alone to check their gas stoves and other electric appliances.
To show their appreciations, local seniors staged performances of Yueju Opera, sang folk songs and played hulusi, a gourd flute made of bamboo.
