Work to begin on center for disabled

CONSTRUCTION work is to start next month on Sunshine Land, or the Jiading Disabled Activity Center.
At a cost of 80 million Yuan (US$13.3 million), the project on a 25,000-square-meter plot of land will be the biggest activity center for the disabled in Shanghai, offering training, rehabilitating, culture and entertainment.
Work is expected to take two years.
Other facilities, will include a coffee bar and an entertainment center for the disabled.
Appliances aimed at improving disabled people’s quality of life at home will also be on display.
These include a variable height kitchen appliances, an intelligent toilet, an illuminated doorbell and an induction cooker for the blind.
