There’s plenty on offer this summer and you can book your place online
ASIDE from homework, the summer holidays may also feature football, painting, music lessons and adventure. There are many options on offer for kids in Jiading to fill the two-month gap between semesters.
For 17-year-old Gao Zixin, the most important task this summer is to pass her piano grading test. She missed last year’s test because of the high school entrance exam.
This time, she has booked the piano room at the district cultural center. She made reservation online as Jiading has launched a cloud platform for cultural services. Users may log on the platform through an app on their mobile phones.
“It is very convenient to book the piano room online. Also, exercising at district cultural center won’t disturb my neighbors,” Gao said.
Gao customized a summer timetable for herself on the platform. “I’ve booked some of my favorite cultural activities online. July is already full,” she said.
Nearly 80 activities are listed on “Culture Jiading” in July, a number of which are already booked up.
Lu Yanshao Art Museum will continue its public art education event this summer with booking available on the platform.
More adventurous
An urban survival challenge was held on July 9 in the district. Children who participated had to walk 10 kilometers over seven hours and find solutions to puzzles.
“It is a different summer experience to let kids be more adventurous,” said Xu Congcong, one of the organizers.
A soccer summer camp with professional soccer player Cheng Liang attracted many young school kids.
Camps and training courses in tennis, badminton and swimming are proving very popular and are just a few of the 58 sports training programs available.
