Shopping centers give customers more choice

JIADING saw the opening of two massive shopping centers at the end of last month.
The Bailian Shopping Mall opened on May 27, and Powerlong City Plaza the following day.
The Bailian Shopping Mall is at the intersection of Chengliu Road M. and Cangyang Road in Jiading Old Town. Powerlong City Plaza is at the Baoshan-Anting section of Shanghai-Yixing Expressway and neighbors Jiading New Town. Both are near a number of residential communities. Both have a floor area of around 130,000 square meters, making them the largest in the area.
The two shopping centers launched sale promotions to persuade customers to try them out.
Coupons and discount sales were in abundance in the first few days of operation.
At the Bailian mall, for instance, customers who bought gold jewelry enjoyed at least 30 yuan (US$4.6) off for each gram they paid. Those who bought cosmetic products enjoyed 60 yuan off every 300 yuan purchase.
Powerlong City Plaza had 100,000 visitors on its first day.
The Bailian mall has more than 200 retail shops while Powerlong City Plaza has also attracted almost as many as 200 stores.
The Friendship Store opened an outlet at the Bailian mall and French retail giant Auchan group and sportswear chain Decathlon also have shops there.
Powerlong City Plaza has Jiading’s first H&M outlet and a Bravo YH supermarket. It also boasts a variety of restaurants and a riverside street full of boutiques and bistros.
