Online services become a boon for residents

JIADING District government has launched a better online service for residents covering neighborhood management, for the disabled and others.

Paperwork is a heavy burden for the neighborhood communities. Last year there were about 175 day-to-day account books for each community. “With the application of the online management information system, day-to-day account books will be cut to about 28, so that we can have more time to do practical work for the local people,” a community worker surnamed Wang said.

“Meanwhile, the neighborhood committees can input data into district-level databases directly, so as to avoid the repetition of the same work”, said Qiang Renliang, deputy director of Jiading Community Construction Office. The system is scheduled to be expanded across the district by the end of this month.

Another online service is for the disabled people in Jiading. The district is now renovating its website with more functions. For those with poor eyesight, there will be a new tool bar, with which the size of the letters can be enlarged easily. In addition, an audio driver will be added for the blind. The renovation will be completed by the end of this year.

Jiading Trade Union has also launched an online service platform.
