Major hospital project nears completion in Anting Town

THE construction of the Third Affiliated Hospital of PLA Second Military Medical University (also known as Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital) is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
It’s a major project in Jiading with state-of-art hardware and software, which will upgrade the medical treatment environment in the district.
In the Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital at 700 Moyu Road N. in Anting Town, a “National Liver Cancer Scientific Center” will be set up, together with respiration, orthopedics and general surgery departments. The hospital plans to set up 23 departments with pace-setters in scientific research.
With a total area of 230,000 square meters and floor space of 200,000 square meters, the hospital has 1,500 beds. Built to withstand an 8.0-magnitude earthquake, the buildings will be equipped with new air systems, ground source heat pumps, solar powered hot water, rain recycling and automatic sunshade systems to save energy. The hospital is applying for 3-star green architecture status.
Around the new hospital, a 5-star hotel, high-end community, Anting Middle School, dormitory buildings and commercial residential buildings will be built.
Anting also plans to set up a nurses’ training school. In the future, the area will be built into a health care industry zone, according to the town’s blueprint.
