Jiangqiao Town enters the fast lane

The Shanghai Municipal Government has approved the inclusion of 12.96 square kilometers of land in Jiangqiao Town into the expansion area of Hongqiao Business Zone, thus putting the development of Jiangqiao into the fast lane.

Jiading District, Jiangqiao Town and Hongqiao Business Zone have signed an agreement to push forward the comprehensive planning and construction of the North Hongqiao Business Zone to make it another development engine for Shanghai.

Jiangqiao plans to develop a headquarters economy as its backbone, and develop cultural and creative industries, e-commerce, financial services and intelligence industries as its key developing industries. It will introduce Dalian Yida Group to set up a development zone for business startups in three years.

The town also plans to cooperate with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China Normal University and Donghua University to assist in the development of high-tech and online financial companies.

Jiangqiao has co-invested 100 million yuan (US$16 million) together with Jiading Venture Capital Investment Management Co Ltd to set up an investment fund and 10 million yuan to set up a talent support fund.

Jiangqiao simplified the certificate registration process and provides subsidies on house rent, broadband Internet and public software to provide business startups a low-cost business environment. Enterprises can apply for office areas from as low as 450 yuan per month.

To make the area more livable, Jiangqiao has accelerated the development of real estate complex under the name of North Hongqiao Star.

The complex at the center of North Hongqiao Business Zone covers a land of 1,734,200 square meters. East of the complex is a high-end international community with a school and a center for culture, sports and health care.
