Internet of vehicles the latest trend
JIADING resident Wang Shouting has personally experienced the unique charms of Internet of vehicles.
He took out his mobile phone and logged onto an app.
He found the Jiading No. 9 Bus was two stops away from the Jiading Central Hospital Station.
He walked out of the hospital to the platform, and got on the bus in time.
In the near future, when driving in a car with the app connected, he will know where to find a free parking space, and where there are traffic jams ...
The Internet of vehicles is a huge interaction network, made up of information of vehicles’ position, their speed and routes.
Industry insiders say it is becoming a major trend in the market.
The Shanghai Internet of Vehicles and In-Vehicle Information Industrial Base was established in Anting, Jiading in 2011.
Clean vehicles
“New energy vehicle represents the future of automobile industry,” said Ding Xiaohua, vice manager of New Energy Department of Shanghai International Automobile City. “Jiading’s Internet of vehicles will focus on new energy vehicles.”
A new cellphone app, evcard, will give consumers another way to rent new energy vehicles.
When it is launched, people will be able to reserve vehicles using their phones and pay online.
Most of the new energy cars will be Roewe E50s, and the system will be launched in October.
Twenty service stations will be constructed around the district, including Anting Cultural & Sports Service Center and the Shanghai International Automobile City Mansion.
