Clinic opens for auto city workers
SHANGHAI Ruijin Guangci Clinic is now open in Anting Town offering people who work at the automobile city and live in the area convenient access for outpatient services, referrals and remote diagnosis.
Guangci, literally great mercy, is the former Chinese name of Ruijin Hospital and indicates its connection with one of Shanghai’s top hospitals.
Ruijin Guangci shares medical resources with Ruijin Hospital North in Jiading District and Ruijin Hospital downtown.
Patients’ information, such as X-ray film and CT scan data, is uploaded online for remote diagnosis.
“Patients in serious conditions will be referred Ruijin Hospital North or Ruijin Hospital downtown immediately,” said Yang Haibing, deputy general manager of Shanghai International Automobile City (Group) Co.
Anting is home to Shanghai International Automobile City where more than 1,600 foreign employees work and live.
“Environment, education and health care are among their top concerns,” said Yang, “but previously few top-level medical resources were available in the vicinity.”
At present, about 10 departments, including internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology and stomatology are available to local patients.
Five experts are in attendance at the clinic on a daily basis, and more can be called on if they are required.
