A welcome respite from the problems of the city
I’VE been paying attention to traveling activities for about a year. Every time I see others share their traveling stories, I wished I had gone with them. Finally, I made up my mind and asked my cousin to go hiking with me to Wuyue Ancient Path — a main road in the Five Dynasties and Ten States period (907-978 AD) in ancient China.
Some people fall in love with outdoor hiking after their first try and others lose interest. I belong to the former. Since then, I have attended four hiking activities organized by Jiading outdoor organizations. I am addicted to hiking just because I have fallen in love with the wonder of the nature.
Every hiking activity was led by several leaders who are very experienced hikers. If it’s your first time, you may just follow the leaders.
I remember once we were hiking at Nanxi River in Zhejiang Province and a team member had sunstroke, and the leader carried his bag for him. When we were running out of water, three of us would share one can of drink. When we were desperate, we shouted out in the mountains and released all of our pressure and complaints. Then we felt relaxed.
Everyone has this or that complaint from work and life. I advise you to walk out of the office buildings and the hustle-bustle city and go to see a different world.
You will have many surprises when walking in a mountainous area and talking to unsophisticated villagers.
All the troubles would be cleared away by the blue sky, white clouds and the beauty of nature.
