Relief funds allocated

BY noon yesterday, China had received 41.74 billion yuan (US$5.96 billion) worth of cash and materials for earthquake relief from domestic and overseas donors, according to the Information Office of the State Council.

Of the donations, 37.72 billion yuan in cash and materials had reached the bank accounts of charity foundations or government departments, while 11.53 billion yuan of cash and materials had been distributed to earthquake areas.

Governments at different levels had allocated 23.3 billion yuan in relief funds.
