Lee Kuan Yew hails CPC leadership

SINGAPORE'S veteran politician and former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew appraised the newly elected Communist Party of China's leadership as a highly capable team, the China News Service reported today.
According to news reports and other studies, all the newly elected members were highly capable and experienced, Lee said in an interview on Friday during a five-day visit to India.
The Communist Party of China has a very strict and transparent system to select leaders, more transparent than that of Singapore's People's Action Party, he said, according to the report.
Lee said he is planning a visit to China, the report said.
The 17th Communist Party Congress closed on October 21 after selecting the new central committee of the party. Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang were selected to be the members of the standing committee of politburo in the first plenary meeting of the central committee held on October 22.
