Tunnel opens

THE Zizhi Tunnel, the longest urban tunnel in the country, opened to traffic last week.
The 14.4-kilometer tunnel connects Zhipu Road in the south with Zijingang Road in the north. The tunnel crosses Longwu, Daqinggu Valley, Xixi Road and Tianmushan Road. It includes four entrances and exits.
In a trial run by a local reporter, it took 15 minutes to drive from one end of the tunnel to the other.
