Seaplanes on Qiandao

THE Chun’an Port and Shipping Administration selected three sites for a proposed seaplane base on the picturesque Qiandao Lake, also called the One Thousand Islands Lake.
The three sites are Jinxian Bay, Santan Island and Pearl Square, all away from shipping routes, bridges, overhead pipelines, and water sports facilities.
Qiandao Lake is 130 kilometers west of Hangzhou and 140km east of Yellow Mountain in Anhui Province. The lake has 1,078 islands and is rich in fishing, hiking and cycling facilities.
