Promoting Hangzhou

A promotional video for Hangzhou, the host city of the G20 Leaders Summit 2016, has been broadcast on the BBC World News Channel since last week.

The 15-second video will appear 359 times on the channel and reach an estimated 20 million people in 44 countries, including Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Russia. The video depicts the West Lake, the Broken Bridge, the Longjing Tea, Alibaba Group and other icons of Hangzhou in animated cartoons.

Hangzhou will host the G20 Summit on September 4 and 5. Leaders from G20 countries and a large number of journalists will come to the city.

The Hangzhou Tourism Commission has also cooperated with The Daily Telegraph in the UK, Le Figaro in France, Handelsblatt in Germany, and other foreign media to use the G20 Summit to promote Hangzhou as a tourist destination.
