Mediating better business

The 2017 International Mediation Summit will be held in Hangzhou on September 18-19.

“We will cooperate with the CCPIT Mediation Center to provide good services for summit participants from around the world and show them the charms of Hangzhou,” Wang Guozhen, director of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Hangzhou Sub-Council.

The summit aims to promote the use of mediation to solve business disputes and to enhance international exchange and cooperation in mediation. It also aims to establish a mechanism to solve disputes involving parties in Belt and Road Initiative countries.

Around 350 people are expected to attend the summit — more than one third of them foreigners, Wang said, noting that the CCPIT Mediation Center will sign memorandums of understanding for cooperation with Singaporean and Malaysian mediation centers during the event.
