Graduate subsidy plans

HANGZHOU is considering subsidies for graduates with Master’s and PhD degrees and to keep them in the city’s talent pool.

Graduates with a Master’s degree would receive a one-off subsidy of 20,000 yuan (US$2,941) and those with a PhD degree will receive 30,000 yuan as a housing or living subsidy, said Zhu Guoqun, an official of the Hangzhou Talent Service Bureau.

The bureau is working on the details of the subsidy program, Zhu said.

About 70,000 college graduates stay or come to Hangzhou every year.
