G20 ‘mood’ to be recreated for 2016 West Lake Expo
VISITORS to Hangzhou will be able to appreciate food and other related things on offer at last month’s G20 Summit during the 18th West Lake International Expo, which runs until October 31.
After the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, the city government decided to give full play to the post-G20 effect during the expo and for the 33 other major events related to the summit.
Among them will be the G20 Cultural Summit at the World Trade Center in Hangzhou from today to Sunday. It will show scenes of the G20 Summit with the help of multimedia technology, displaying food and articles used at the event, performances and souvenir sales.
Visitors can also travel to places related to the summit and try out the 20 special local dishes.
Several high-end forums and conferences will also be held during the expo that will share the latest experiences, advanced technologies and discuss pioneering ideas.
Senior officials and businessmen from home and abroad will participate in the expo development forum, the new business forum, the annual Financial Times Summit, and the Yunqi Computing Conference organized by Alibaba.
The expo is expected to achieve a trade turnover of 10 billion yuan (US$1.49 billion) and attract US$1 billion of foreign investment and 10 billion yuan of domestic investment.
It is estimated that about 8 million people will visit the expo.
