Wireless headphones sound cool

PROFESSIONAL audio device vendors launched headphones with wireless connection following Apple’s removal of traditional headphone jacks on its new iPhone 7 models, driving the industry toward smarter and easier connection standard.

Japan’s Audio-Technica (ATH), US-based Bose and Germany’s Sennheiser have all launched high-end wireless headphones that support Bluetooth and related mobile applications. Older headphones needed to have cables to project high-quality sound.

The annual revenue in the Chinese headphone market is set to hit above 20 billion yuan (US$2.9 billion) in 2016 amid higher penetration rate of wireless devices and development of Bluetooth technologies, analysts said.

Smartphone vendors are set to follow Apple’s example, which makes high-end wireless headphones necessary.
