Tie-up to help China UnionPay expand business overseas

UNIONPAY International is partnering global payment service provider ACI Worldwide to expand its business overseas.
The new partnership will help China UnionPay, with more than 7 billion card users, to speed up global expansion and bring convenience to users for paying cross-border shopping, education and tourism services, both sides said yesterday.
Nasdaq-listed ACI Worldwide, which offers payment service for 5,100 organizations including professional finance firms, will help increase UnionPay International’s acceptance globally and help it to roll out a range of new products, services and payment technology rapidly to the market.
In the initial stage of the tie-up, both firms will sign on several hundred merchants globally to accept payments using UnionPay.
