More to read on digital devices

AMAZON and China Mobile announced today in Shanghai to cooperate on contents and payment services.

The two companies will offer Kindle X Migu E-reader, which features 460,000 Kindle eBooks from the Kindle Store and over 400,000 online literature titles from Migu, China Mobile’s online literature platform.

The cooperation aims to “unlock the reading passion for Chinese readers”. China has become one of the world’s fastest growing markets for Kindle and e-book sales, with “double digit growth” annually, said Dave Limp, Senior Vice President of Amazon Devices.

China Mobile has more than 500 million digital reading users now with its Migu service. The integration with Kindle services will continue expanding the booming market, which is expected to grow more than 20 percent year-on-year, said Sha Yuejia, vice president of China Mobile.

They also planned cooperation on the distribution of Chinese titles in overseas markets.
