Alliance for ‘Belt and Road’ plan
A business alliance was formed yesterday in Shanghai to facilitate China’s “Belt and Road” initiative.
The “Belt and Road” Trade Alliance, set up under the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export, drew 92 trading entities from both home and abroad as founding members, the Shanghai Commission of Commerce said.
Vice Mayor Zhou Bo said yesterday at the launching ceremony the alliance will facilitate China’s proposals of building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, known as the “Belt and Road” initiative.
“We hope the alliance can facilitate active participation of all the countries and regions along the route for synergy,” Zhou said.
The alliance will promote trade and be a platform for all members to communicate via forums.
