FTZ offers water aid
WATER industry experts based in the Shanghai pilot free trade zone are discussing ways to put their talents to good use in rural parts of western China.
During talks at the 2015 World Water Source Summit, which started on Wednesday in Yushu, Qinghai Province, representatives of the FTZ agreed in principle to work with local governments and think tanks on a diverse range of water-related projects in the region.
“Shanghai should use its expertise and resources to help on projects that are beneficial to many people,” said Han Bo, marketing director at Shanghai Free Trade Zones United Development Co.
Another idea under discussion is the creation of e-commerce channels to help Yushu-based businesses to sell their products in Shanghai, he said.
About 70 scholars, officials and businesspeople from around the world are attending the summit, which ends today.
