China job seekers still prefer desktop in submitting resumes, survey says
CHINESE job seekers are increasingly using mobile devices when looking for a new job but desktop remains a major source of information, recruiter Hays said in a survey.
It found 61 percent of respondents said they do their job searching mostly by desktop but sometimes by mobile, while 27 percent said they search mainly by mobile and sometimes by desktop, Hays said in a survey covering 510 Chinese candidates.
“Job seekers still prefer to submit most of their job applications on their desktop computer as they have larger screens and keyboards than mobile devices, enabling the user to sit comfortably while applying online,” says Simon Lance, Regional Director of Hays in China.
The agency said cloud technology could boost the use of handsets in job hunting as candidates will be able to synchronize resumes in various sites and apply for jobs from an application or mobile website.
