Fishy imports on rise
SHANGHAI customs said yesterday that imports of aquatic products in the January-April period rose 34.7 percent year on year to 34,000 tons.
The value of the goods rose 36.4 percent to 2.5 billion yuan (US$381 million), it said.
Customs attributed the increases to higher demand and lower taxes on imports, which came mainly from ASEAN countries, Chile, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea.
