Honda recalls vehicles over faulty airbags

HONDA (China) has filed for a vehicle recall to commence on February 1, 2015, over reports of defective airbags, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said yesterday.

The recall will affect 2,623 imported vehicles, including the Stream and CR-V models made between 2003 and 2004, and the 2003 CIVIC.

The airbags are faulty and may cause danger, the watchdog said.

Honda (China) will fix the issue free for the customer.

Two of Honda’s joint ventures with Chinese partners, GAC-Honda and Dongfeng-Honda, announced recalls over faulty airbags on Tuesday, affecting over 570,000 vehicles including Accord, Fit Saloon and A60 models.
