Bosch eyes smart lean production

BOSCH yesterday opened a plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.

The German provider of automotive technologies and services will invest 800 million yuan (US$116 million) to further develop the new plant in the Wujin Economic Development Zone in Changzhou by the end of 2019. Over 1,300 employees will work in the plant by then.

“The Wujin plant is the second manufacturing base of Bosch Automotive Electronics in China,” said President Klaus Meder. “This is also a clear statement of Bosch’s firm confidence in the fast developing Chinese market. The new Wujin plant will be a lean and smart factory to meet market demand in an even more agile and faster way.”

The plant will make electronics products for autonomous driving and connected vehicles.
