3 giants recall cars in China
VOLKSWAGEN, Chrysler and General Motors are recalling defective vehicles in China, the country’s top quality watchdog said yesterday.
The affected 112 Volkswagen Beatles 2.0T were manufactured between July 10, 2014 and November 1, 2014, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement.
Substandard welding of the vehicle may lead to fuel leak and cause fire hazards. The recall will start on January 15, 2015.
The affected 3,369 Chrysler Grand Cherokee were manufactured between January 5, 2010 and July 20, 2011. Due to defective power modules, engines may experience an unexpected stop or may be unable to start.
