The New England Journal of Medicine launches Chinese digital magazine in Shanghai

PUBLISHER of the world’s top medical journal, the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), has launched a Chinese-language digital magazine called NEJM Frontiers in Medicine in collaboration with an entity in Shanghai.

Jeffrey Drazen, Editor-in-Chief of NEJM Group, announced the launch of application and website of the NEJM Frontiers in Medicine, which it developed in collaboration with Shanghai-based Jiahui Medical Research and Education Group (JMRE), at a symposium at the Shanghai Science Hall on November 15.

The digital magazine will “address the unmet needs in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in China through reliable medical information,” said Drazen.

Following decades of economic growth, China faces a growing burden from NCDs such as cardiovascular disease and stroke, diabetes, and cancer.

“Clinical researchers and practitioners are stepping up their efforts to meet the growing demands in NCDs,”  Cao Xuetao, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and president of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, said at the conference held at the “Non-Communicable Disease Research in the Era of Precision Medicine” symposium.
