Stocks dip amid thin trading
Chinese shares dipped yesterday as titanium pigment producers and mobile game firms shed in thin trading.
The Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.31 percent to 2,769.29 points, and the Shenzhen Component Index slipped 0.64 percent to 8,678.26 points.
Shares of titanium pigment producers and mobile game firms suffered big losses.
Trading was thin as the total turnover on the two bourses were 246.4 billion yuan (US$36.1 billion), down from 291.4 billion yuan on Tuesday.
“Stock investors are worried about slowing economic growth as Beijing tries to cut debt level” among state-owned companies, said Larry Hu, head of China economics at Australia’s Macquarie.
